When the P0583 fault code appears, the cruise control system has detected that the electrical signal in the circuit controlling the cruise control vacuum system is lower than expected.

This does not automatically mean that the engine has low vacuum or that the cruise control servo is mechanically damaged. The word “Low” in this code primarily describes an electrical circuit condition detected by the control module.
