P0366 vs P0369

P0369 indicates an intermittent Camshaft Position Sensor B signal.

P0366 indicates a range/performance problem.

The actual waveform and freeze-frame data can help distinguish the two.

Can P0366 Cause a No-Start?

Yes.

If the ECM cannot establish reliable camshaft position or synchronization, starting can become difficult.

Depending on the engine, the vehicle may:

  • Crank for a long time

  • Start and immediately stall

  • Start but run poorly

  • Experience an intermittent no-start

  • Refuse to start altogether

Some engines can compensate using other timing information, so not every P0366 vehicle will have a starting problem.
