Therefore, if a modern vehicle has an idle problem, replacing an “IAC valve” may not even be applicable.

IAC Valve Replacement

If it uses an electronic throttle body, the diagnosis should focus on throttle position, throttle actuator operation, airflow, wiring, and ECU control rather than looking for a separate IAC valve.

When the actual cause is identified first, unnecessary parts replacement can usually be avoided.
