Why Does the Steering Wheel Lock? Causes and What to Do

The steering wheel is one of the most important safety components in a vehicle. If the steering wheel suddenly becomes difficult to turn or appears to lock completely, it can be alarming and, in some situations, dangerous.

A steering wheel that feels locked does not always mean that the steering mechanism itself has failed.
