M.T.M. Celebrated Its 40th Anniversary
The 40th anniversary is an important milestone, both in business and in everyday life. Last month, M.T.M. S.r.l. celebrated its 40th anniversary and decided to mark the occasion every four years. The company's anniversary was celebrated on Sunday, June 25, 2017, in a rural setting, with more than 600 local residents, managers, technicians, current and former employees, and other guests in attendance.
The company's story began on June 1, 1977, when Mariano and Pier Antonio Costamagna started producing small water-jet cleaning components in a small workshop beneath their home. They decided to establish a small workshop in Cherasco, Italy. Over time, the BRC brand turned the company into a globally recognized name.
In 1978, the two brothers joined forces with Romano Bogetti, who founded BRC S.p.A. to manufacture and market automotive LPG conversion systems.
The cooperation with BRC S.p.A., together with developments in automotive technology and the production of their first products, handcrafted multivalves, brought the company's first major successes. This marked the beginning of a period of growth, and the first two factories were established in the local industrial area.
In 1992, MTM acquired BRC S.p.A. and established a major production center that became a leader and important reference point in the alternative fuels industry within just a few years.
The company's hard work, sacrifices, and entrepreneurial spirit transformed it into a global leader capable of manufacturing all the components required for LPG and CNG vehicle conversions and marketing them in more than 70 countries.
The company is now part of the Westport Fuel Systems group. By continuously working with major automotive manufacturers, it expanded its business operations and production volume over the years.
Several new divisions and products were also developed as the company expanded, including CUBOGAS and BRC FuelMaker CNG refueling station compressors, BRC Electronic Systems, BRC Car Service spare parts, and the BRC Racing Team, which was established to develop and test new technologies.
The anniversary event took place in an informal and cheerful atmosphere. Various awards were presented to employees who had worked at MTM for more than 25 years, retirees, and suppliers who had made significant contributions to the company's growth.
