New Skoda Scala: Interior Design of the Ford Focus Rival Revealed

The interior image of the new Skoda Scala, which was scheduled to go on sale toward the end of the year and positioned as a rival to the Ford Focus, has been released. After replacing its Rapid hatchback, Czech automaker Skoda gave the new model the name Scala and released an image showing the car's interior.

The new Skoda Scala hatchback, which competes with models such as the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, was scheduled to be unveiled on December 6. The new touchscreen measures 9.2 inches and is combined with a 10.25-inch digital driver display, which was described as the largest screen in its class.

The new system includes wireless software updates and new mobile application functions. Like its digital instrument display, the Scala's interior dimensions are also among the largest in its class.

The interior design also features new materials, including microfiber upholstery for the seats, as well as ambient lighting that gives the cabin a more modern appearance.

Scala is a Latin word meaning “staircase.” According to Skoda CEO Bernhard Maier, the name represents the company's next step in the compact segment.

The Scala was also set to become the first Skoda model to feature the brand name written across the rear tailgate instead of the traditional logo.

Maier described the Scala as “an entirely new model that sets standards in terms of technology, safety, and design.”

First Skoda Based on the MQB A0 Platform

The five-door Scala was planned to become the first Skoda vehicle to use the MQB A0 platform, which is also used by models such as the SEAT Ibiza and Volkswagen T-Roc.

With the Scala, Skoda aimed to create a larger and more competitive rival to hatchbacks such as the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, positioning it above the previous Rapid in the segment.

The new model was therefore expected to play an important role in Skoda's compact-car strategy, combining a spacious interior with modern digital technology, improved connectivity, and a more distinctive design.
