The Beginning of Turkish Automobile Manufacturing: The Koç–Ford Partnership

The foundations of Turkey's automotive industry date back to 1928, when Vehbi Koç established Otokoç.

In 1946, Otokoç became the official representative of Ford Motor Company in Türkiye. By 1954, discussions had already begun regarding domestic automobile production in cooperation with Ford.
